Laura Letchinger creates mostly large contemporary abstract paintings from her studio in Los Angeles, working in oil and mixed media on canvas or wood. She responds to the moment with nuanced marks and expanses of color, resulting in organic, layered, movement-filled compositions that are often informed by the intersection of nature and the human-built world. “I paint because it's the best way for me to connect with the universal creative energy that's in and around all of us, all the time.
